FORSYTH COUNTRY DAY FURIES TAKE HOME STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Forsyth Country Day boys basketball team capped off their stellar season with a state championship. The Furies finished the season with a 29-3 record and ranked as the #3 team in the state, according to MaxPreps. There is an adage that goes “the customer is always right.” For Sonya Colyar, owner of Simply Sonya’s Lounge and Restaurant, she pays attention to what her customers tell her. The Walkertown Wolfpack almost had a dream season, falling one game shy of achieving their ultimate goal of a state championship. Although the game did not go their way, the Wolfpack are trending upward and have many reasons to keep their heads held high as they prepare for next season. As a long-time UNC Chapel Hill mens basketball fan, it saddens me to say the administration has decided to relieve head coach Hubert Davis of his coaching duties and find a new leader for the mens basketball team after five seasons.
